Our geotechnical engineering services provide a wide range of solutions for soil analysis, foundation design, and site assessments to ensure the safety and stability of your construction projects.

A.S.James are a Victorian-based company, capable of carrying out all types of geotechnical investigations. We are fully self-contained, incorporating engineering staff, two NATA accredited laboratories and field equipment, including drilling rigs, field density nuclear meters and similar. As such, we are fully flexible in our approach to any investigation.

At A.S.James, we adhere to Australian Standards to ensure the highest quality and integrity of our investigations. Relevant standards include:

  • AS 1726 – Site Investigation Code
  • AS 1289 – Methods of Testing Soils for Engineering Purposes
  • AS 3798 – Guidelines on Earthworks for Commercial and Residential Developments
  • AS 2870 – Residential Slabs and Footings
  • AS 2159 – Piling Code
  • NEPMs – National Environmental Protection Measure (1999) As amended in 2013
  • VicRoads – Test Methods, Code of Practice
